About The Conference
Amoebic diseases continue to pose significant challenges to global health, with parasitic Entamoeba histolytica being a major cause of amoebiasis and free-living Naegleria fowleri and Acanthamoeba spp responsible for the devastating and often fatal primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), Granulomatous Amoebic Encephalitis (GAE), and keratitis that results in loss of vision. Despite advances in molecular biology, genomics, diagnostics, and therapeutics, important gaps remain in our understanding of amoebic pathogenesis, host–parasite interactions, disease progression, and effective treatment strategies.
The “Global Advances in Amoeba Biology: Bridging Gaps in Diagnosis, Treatment, and Pathogenesis” conference will bring together leading scientists, clinicians, researchers, and young investigators from across the globe to discuss emerging discoveries and innovative approaches in amoeba biology. The conference will provide a platform for sharing advances in amoebic disease diagnosis, parasite biology, host–parasite interactions, virulence mechanisms, drug discovery, therapeutic interventions, and emerging technologies.
By fostering interdisciplinary interactions and international collaborations, the conference aims to bridge fundamental research with clinical and translational applications, identify critical knowledge gaps, and catalyse new strategies for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of amoebic diseases.
